Matt Warnock Tutorials

On 18, Dec 2013 | No Comments | In News | By admin

After working with The M’Goo Project on the Let’s Fly To The Moon music video, we were asked to visit the legendary Blueprint Studios in Salford to film a series of tutorial videos for guitarist Matt Warnock. Soon to be available to purchase through Vimeo’s On Demand service, these videos explore some of the key musical ideas and playing styles of The M’Goo Project’s signature tracks. Matt blazed through the sessions and we were massively impressed by his tutorial prowess. No wonder he’s sponsored by Koentopp Guitars and hangs out with guitar legend Paul Reed Smith!

Update: The videos can now be viewed here.

Mencap – Cyberbully Project

On 09, Dec 2013 | No Comments | In News | By admin

Envelope Films have just completed the shoot for our mammoth project, Cyberbully. Commissioned by Mencap, we were given the task of producing an interactive film about Cyberbullying. Created from a series of workshops with young people from a mixed abilities school in Wigan, the film centres around a troubled teenager, Jake Stirling, who wrestles with personal problems and social pressures. The shoot lasted 6 days and featured students from the school, who although hadn’t acted in film before, all perfomed brilliantly! Great experience all round.

Special thanks to location sound / production assistant Jonny Pratt.

Who Do You Think You Are?

On 02, Oct 2013 | No Comments | In News | By admin

Following on from the charity music video that we produced with Ben Williams, we’ve just finished our shoot for another music video with Ben, this time for his track Who Do You Think You Are? Filmed at Longford Park in Chorlton, the video tells the story of 4 runners as they try every trick in the book to beat each other around the running track. Laden with heavy instruments and Wacky Racer ethics, only 1 runner can cross the finish line first. Featuring a suprise role from Where Is The Light‘s Sven Eselgroth, this video is not to be taken too seriously!

The Splits

On 01, Sep 2013 | No Comments | In News | By admin

Envelope Films just completed filming for The M’Goo Project’s Let’s Fly To The Moon music video with our new Blackmagic Cinema Camera. Filmed at the stunning Bargehouse in London (the old Oxo factory), the video features incredible performances from West End dancers Alex Thomas, Matthew Holland, Harriet Bunton and Imogen Brooke. With choreography by Matt Holland and a story inspired by an open letter by Frank Ocean, the video explores love, lust, longing and character in a complicated 4 way relationship. The shoot was particularly tough as it was on a short working day and included complicated staging of a choreography that was still evolving during the shoot. Everyone worked really hard to complete the video and spirits were high. Kudos to co-producer Michael Meighu who ran to Primark in the middle of the shoot to get new jeans for dancer Alex, who’s incredible acrobatics split the jeans wide open!

Tangerine Dream

On 20, Aug 2013 | No Comments | In News | By admin

We finally got a chance to give the new Blackmagic Cinema Camera a test shoot! Written in half an hour and about a man in a dressing gown finding tangerines in the woods, our test shoot won’t win any awards, but it was a great way to learn the camera. Thanks so much to actor Andrew Cullimore and film maker Richard Addlesee for helping out on the fun shoot.
